Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
• Coordinate the work processes of all production crafts in performing their portion of the project in a timely and safe manner, producing the highest quality product.
• Continuously review the manning plan and work scope for the project night shift and make any recommendations for necessary changes and/or revisions.
• Establish and supervise a Project Testing Team for the testing of all applicable tanks, voids and systems.
• Implement the Quality Assurance Plan, Accuracy Control Plan and the NDT Plan as prescribed for the project.
• Coordinate the documentation and distribution of condition reports generated by the crafts on their assigned work.
• Perform customer liaison functions as directed by the General Manager.
• Ensure the project is performed up to the company safety standards and policies by coordination with the Safety/Environmental Manager, ensuring discrepancies are corrected in a timely manner.
• Confer with production department personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
• Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
• Executes company policies and enforces safety and environmental regulations, calling upon Human Resources if there is ever a question about fairness, legality or past precedent.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible and accountable for the performance of craft supervision, technicians, and mechanics for quality, cost, scheduling, and safety.
• Enforce worker compliance with appropriate procedures in production, accuracy control, safety, cost, environmental protection and quality assurance.
• Administer discipline in a fair manner in consultation with Human Resources and Union Reps to insure equitable action to correct employee behavior and performance deficiencies.
• Manage in a manner to promote a safe yard and positive employee attitude.
• Promote and advocate company policy.
• Comply with and ensure the Company’s “Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy”.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• BS in marine related discipline for four year college or university.
• Three to five years relevant experience in ship repair.
• Thorough knowledge of ship repair processes.
